To donate by check please follow the following procedure :-
1. Write a check payable to WildlifeDirect Inc.
2. Indicate the blog you would like to support (pls select from the list attached) e. g. to donate to Lion guardians blog, simply quote LIGUS001- for uniforms. Since we have a database of the items codes, the donation will be rightfully allocated to the blog and item.

Well done, team! Thanks for responding. Now, those who still have one foot back in the 20th Century, can donate the old fashioned way, as well as online. Thanks for helping the public support network to support you, by giving several options and methods for making donations.

It would be useful to know where to send the cheques to! And what cheques can be accepted? Is it just US $ or are those in any currency accepted?

Thanks for posting. Many of the organizations are missing, i.e., Mara Triangle.
Antony has a good point :>)
Thanks!

I found addresses by clicking on the “contact” icon at the top of the Wildlifedirect homepage. A U.S. address was given there. I believe there was a Kenya address option as well. I would assume the check must be drafted in the local currency where it will be cashed. (U.S. checks on U.S. soil, etc). It’s obvious why there is a preference by conservation organizations to fund via online transactions: credit card funds can be coverted to local exchange currencies internationally, automatically by the banks processing the transactions. (Like when an American traveller uses their American issued ATM card to get Euro cash out of a cash machine in, say, Germany etc. Much easier and more efficient to process the funds. But still good to have the written check option for some who wouldn’t donate otherwise, or don’t have cards.

Because of the banking costs it makes sense to send $US checks. It can cost up to $30 to cash a foreign one. And thank you all for your donations to BARAZA so far!

Help - I can’t get the link above “How to Donate to Blogs Va Cheque to work” Did in the past. I wanted to see if the spreadsheet has been updated. I want to donate to Simon Thomsett’s site for Rosy’s surgery, and want to see if there an ITEM CODE to put on the check when I mail to the Wildlife Direct office in Washington DC. The last copy I printed out, didn’t have Simon listed.

Hi Dana, sorry about this. We are working on the code for that. Please just indicate on your check that the donation is for Simon Thomsett. Paula
