Tanzania: Kenyans in Trouble Over Trespass

TWO Kenyan nationals, Robert Mwadime Mwakana (30), and Dickson Kawa Mbole (27), have been arrested for trespassing and climbing Mount Kilimanjaro.
A statement issued by the Tanzania National Parks (Tanapa) Public Relations department said that they were apprehended within the Kilimanjaro National Parks (Kinapa) area.
The Kenyans from Taveta are suspected to have entered the Mount Kilimanjaro reserve area through unofficial routes. They were found at Marangu gate, Mandara area last Saturday.
The issued has been handed to the police in Kilimanjaro Region for legal action since the suspects did not follow established rules for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. In another incident, three suspects of the same family are in police custody for being in illegal possession of trophies property of Arusha National Parks.
The trophies include three giraffe bones weighing 10.4 kilos and a five-kilo elephant bone. The suspects are Charles Mollel, Alex Tukai Mollel and Samwel Tukai Mollel all of whom live at Kisongo Olasite.
They were apprehended following a tip-off by well-wishers. Moreover, the Tanapa police also managed to arrest Elias Sifael, a resident of Leguruki in Arusha for being in illegal possession of a shotgun with Serial Number C 139415 suspected to have been used in poaching.
