After we received reports of the death of a 3-year old boy by Furadan poisoning in Kitale, Kenya, we wanted to verify the case. I therefore traveled to Kitale to talk with the bereaved father of the 3-year old Nelson Kimutai.
I found the grieving parents of the young boy at their farm in Sobokeret village, some 20 kilometers from Kitale Town. They were preparing recently harvested maize (corn) to store in their small granary.
Kimutai’s father, Mr Nahashon Kigai, talked to me about that sad day when he lost his only son to Furadan poisoning. He has another child, a little girl aged one-and-a-half years. She is the only child the young couple have now – all because of the deadly Furadan.
This video is a summary of the story of the death of Nelson Kimutai, whose life was cut short by a killer pesticide that the government of Kenya continues to ignore.

This is a most urgent situation, Furadan has to be confiscated everywhere and immediately outlawed. What deadly price to pay if we loose the magnificent lions and now the first human.
